We’ve just arrived in the far-out city of Runtsville, where C.A.S.A.’s space camp is based.
It seems kind of similar to Barksville. There are the same buildings, the same signs, the same street layout… oh, and there’s a bunch of rockets lying around and people walking round in full astronaut get-up.
But apart from that it’s completely the same.
This week, the daycare dogs are getting to grips with space camp life and preparing to begin their training. Training is helpfully divided up into three modules, each of which must be completed before moving on to the next, which means no skipping!
In Mach 1, they must learn basic drill and ceremony commands and movements, as well as having their survival skills put to the test in a variety of indoor and outdoor challenges.
In Mach 2, the canine cadets will be placed in a Rocket Simulator to see if they have what it takes to survive in outer space.
In Mach 3, the dogs must become experts in search and rescue, as well as preparing for their very first spacewalk simulation.
