Yes We Do Puppy Daycare

We have expanded to help you build the best possible relationship with your dog.

I, Dawna Caldwell, began my professional career with dogs in 1996 and created Happy Tails to You Dog Training. In 2004 I opened Canine Corral Dog Daycare to offer daycare and overnight care services. The two businesses have remained separate until now. As of March 3rd, 2020, they have merged to become a full-service training center with the addition of both Board and Train Programs and a Day Training Program!

Your puppy’s safety is the number one priority at Canine Corral Dog Daycare. If your puppy has a traumatic experience before the age of 16 weeks, it will imprint, and possibly negatively impact their future behavior tendencies and personalities. During this critical learning period, it is important the puppies are exposed to positive experiences with people, places, and other dogs.

Remember, even with children at school, there is always an adult on the recess field monitoring and interceding in the play interactions.

Teach Your Pup Good Behavoir From the Start!

There is nothing better than a sensible dog to teach a puppy how to behave around other dogs. My expertise lies in my ability to read dogs. I cannot teach your puppy how to behave off leash with other dogs; I just know who to pair your dog with in a playgroup. The goal is to ensure your puppy is well-adjusted and becomes an ambassador of good behavior.

For appropriate socialization, puppy daycare at Canine Corral is far better than taking a puppy to a puppy social, or a dog park. Puppy socials can go very well at times, and other times they can cause damage. Dog parks are not monitored. They are not cleaned and sanitized, there is no one verifying vaccination records or overseeing the dogs’ behaviors and interactions. Not all puppies have the same temperament. When they are at impressionable ages, interactions between puppies must be tailored appropriately to insure healthy, positive imprinting.

Tailored Playgroups

It is very important that the play between puppies has proper supervision by humans. Many dog owners mistake dog bullying behavior for “play”. Shy puppies need confidence building. An overbearing puppy can practice “bullying” a shy puppy. Overbearing puppies who try to overpower other puppies need guidance from an older, sensible canine “mentor” figure who will explain to the puppy proper social etiquette. This dynamic is hard to achieve in a puppy social or a dog park. At Canine Corral Dog Daycare, our dogs and puppies have been temperament tested, and we have the expertise to tailor playgroups to achieve the best possible socialization experiences for your puppy.

Don’t Leave you pUppy alone all Day.

If you work full-time and have a puppy, the puppy cannot be alone for 8 hours unsupervised. You would not leave a toddler in the backyard unsupervised all day, nor should you leave a puppy. A puppy’s age in months, plus one or two, are the number of hours a puppy can hold their potty. If you are unable to get home midday, bringing your puppy to Canine Corral Dog Daycare is a great option while you are at work. We are also open on the weekends and offer overnight care services as well.
